Online MEPCO Bill Checker, Calculator and Tracker
Check your GEPCO electricity bill, estimate your monthly cost, and keep track of due dates in one simple place. Enter your 14-digit reference number below and we will take you straight to the official bill portal.
Welcome to Online MEPCO Bill Checker
Every month millions of households and shops receive an electricity bill, and many people struggle to find it, understand it or remember the last date for payment. Our website was created to make that routine easier. Online MEPCO Bill Checker brings together a simple bill lookup shortcut, a bill estimator and a personal due-date tracker, all written in plain language and designed to work on any phone, tablet or computer.
MEPCO, the Multan Electric Power Company, supplies electricity to customers across the Gujranwala region. Customers can view a copy of their bill through the official bill portal by entering a valid reference number. We do not replace that portal. Instead, we guide you to it, help you avoid typing mistakes, and add useful tools around it, such as a calculator that shows what a bill might look like before it arrives and a tracker that reminds you what is still unpaid.
Important: This is an independent information website. We are not MEPCO, WAPDA or any government body. Bill amounts and official records are always shown on the official portal, and you should confirm payment details there.
Bill Estimator Tool
Enter the units you used and the rate printed on your previous bill to see an approximate total. Tariffs change by slab and over time, so always take the rate from your own latest bill.
This is an estimate only. It does not include late payment surcharges, fuel adjustments or arrears unless you add them to fixed charges.
Personal Bill Tracker
Add each bill with its month, amount and due date. The tracker shows how many days are left, lets you mark a bill as paid, and keeps your list in this browser only. Nothing is sent to our servers.
| Month | Amount | Due Date | Status | Action |

How to Check Your MEPCO Bill Online
Checking a bill takes less than a minute when you have the right information at hand. Follow these steps:
- Find your 14-digit reference number at the top of any previous bill, or on a meter card or bill envelope.
- Type it into the box at the top of this page. We check the format for you, so a missing digit is caught before you leave.
- Press Check My Bill. The official portal opens in a new tab.
- Enter the reference number there if asked, and view your current and previous bills.
- Print or save a copy, then use our tracker to note the due date and amount.
If the bill does not load, the official portal may be busy or temporarily down. Wait a few minutes and try again, or check that your reference number was typed without extra letters or spaces.
Understanding the Reference Number
The reference number looks long but follows a clear pattern. Knowing each part helps you spot typing errors quickly.
| Part | Digits | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Batch number | 2 | Billing group of your area | 12 |
| Sub-division code | 5 | Your local GEPCO sub-division | 13141 |
| Consumer number | 7 | Your individual connection | 1234567 |
| Category letter | 1 | U for urban or R for rural | U |
The example above is only for illustration. Your own number is printed on your bill, and it is the only one that will show your records.
What Is Printed on Your Electricity Bill
A bill can feel confusing because it lists many charges. The table below explains the items most customers see. Names may differ slightly between bills, so check your own copy for exact labels.
| Bill Item | What It Means | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Previous and present reading | Meter readings at the start and end of the billing month | The difference gives your units used |
| Units consumed | Electricity used, measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh) | Main factor in the total amount |
| Fixed charges | Standard monthly charges on your connection | Payable even with very low usage |
| Fuel price adjustment | Adjustment linked to the cost of generating power | Changes from month to month |
| Taxes | Government taxes added to the bill | Increases the payable amount |
| Due date | Last day to pay without a late fee | Paying later adds a surcharge |
| Arrears | Unpaid balance from earlier bills | Added to the current payable amount |

Tips to Reduce Your Electricity Bill
Small habits add up. Air conditioners, water heaters and irons use the most power, while LED lights and efficient fans use very little. The table shows typical power use of common appliances. Actual figures depend on the model, so check the label on your device.
| Appliance | Typical Power | Approx. Use in 1 Hour | Saving Tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Air conditioner (1.5 ton) | 1,200 to 1,800 W | 1.2 to 1.8 units | Set to 26 C and clean filters |
| Ceiling fan | 60 to 80 W | 0.06 to 0.08 units | Switch off when the room is empty |
| Refrigerator | 100 to 200 W | Runs in cycles | Keep door seals tight, avoid hot food |
| Electric iron | 1,000 W | 1 unit | Iron clothes in one batch |
| LED bulb | 8 to 12 W | 0.01 units | Replace old bulbs with LED |
| Water pump | 750 to 1,100 W | 0.75 to 1.1 units | Fill the tank only when needed |
Besides appliances, check your connection for faults. Loose wiring, old meters and unused devices left on standby can raise your bill. If a reading looks wrong, compare it with your meter and contact your local GEPCO sub-division office with a clear photo of the meter and the bill.
Another useful habit is to compare each month’s units with the same month last year. Summer bills are naturally higher because of cooling, and winter bills are usually lower. A sudden jump with no change in your routine is a good reason to inspect your meter and wiring. Keeping old bills and photos of your meter makes any query much easier to resolve.

In the future we plan to add a unit-slab guide, a seasonal usage planner, bill comparison charts and downloadable payment checklists. We also want to publish more articles about energy saving, meter reading, solar basics and customer rights, written by people who understand local needs. User feedback shapes our roadmap, so tell us what would make the site more useful.
Who Can Use This Website
Our tools are built for everyday users: homeowners checking monthly bills, tenants splitting costs with landlords, shop owners managing several meters, and families helping elderly relatives pay on time. Because the tracker stores entries for any number of bills, you can follow multiple connections together. Students and small businesses will also find the estimator helpful for planning budgets before a new month begins.
We aim to keep every page light and quick, even on slower mobile connections. There are no sign-ups, and you never need to install anything. Open the page, use a tool, and leave when you are done.
